QuSCo blogs: science snacks for hungry minds

Greetings, science lovers!

We, the ESRs from the QuSCo network, are very glad to announce the beginning of the QuSCo blogs! If you want to know who we are, you can read our own bios here. During the next few weeks each one of us will publish an entry regarding our own project, so stay tuned and you will be able to learn a little bit more about what we do.

But what is the purpose of this blog, I hear you ask. Well, science is just a part of all human knowledge, and knowledge should be accessible to people, no matter what educational background they have. Quantum physics should be no different. Of course that is easier to say than to do, but here we aim at making the main ideas of our projects understandable – no more no less. No equations, no unintelligible concepts. Here you will find the simple outlines of what we do and its importance.

It is also up to you to decide which topics you are most interested in. Maybe it will be the fancy NV centers with their shiny diamonds; or atomic physics – models that may look simple but come with impressive results; perhaps you look forward to hearing about the cooler-than-cool superconducting circuits; and possibly you don’t yet know the powerful tools that optimal control theory yields; hold on, I get it now,  how about  quantum physics video games that can also be used as a research tool?

No matter what you are curious about, chances are that some of our projects may look interesting to you, so keep an eye out for updates. If you have any questions or suggestions, leave a comment and we will be more than happy to reply.

And what are you waiting for?! My first project blog is already out, so go on and have a look at it.

I hope you like it!

Until we sense each other
